I am 38 and my heart rate has been in the low 50's and resting in the mid. 40's. I have NOT exercised regularly in years & I am just 10 lbs overweight. I am not experiencing pain or discomfort currently but I do notice my heart skipping beats off and on during the day and when I lay down. My blood pressure also runs low 95/65 or so.

Hi Jenmonge,
There are a few different things that can cause a low heart rate. The most common cause is simply a heart that is in good shape. If you are not having any symptoms this is likely the case for you. The occasional skipped beats are also likely normal unless they are happening frequently.
I would recommend you see your doctor just to be sure that everything is OK.
Best wishes.
