Hello Friend,
As long as you do not have a pre-existing CHD (congenital heart disease- diagnosed in infancy),or current major heart defects and are able to function with your PVC's w/o undue hardships (shortness of breath, Chest pain, profuse perspiration, etc..), you can assume that the premature ventricular contractions may be stress or Anxiety related. This is actually quite common, it may feel as though your heart "skipped a beat". I'm sure you have had an EKG at some point and if any severe or incapacitating heart defect was detected, your dr. would have referred you to cardiologist. Main thing is, just be aware of what triggers the PVCs, make sure you "take a breather" if prolonged and feel dizzy or nauseated. sit and rest for a few minutes ( if severe and you feel faint, lie down and elevate your legs and take slow deep breaths until help arrives) If it is prolonged, any dizziness, or Chest pain, go to the nearest clinic and nasal oxygen and possibly IV Lidocaine should remedy the situation. Familiarize yourself with taking your pulse and if you feel the "skip" more than 6-8 in a minute, you should seek follow up care. In the meantime, kudos to you for attempting to function w/o the benzodiazepines (ativan, xanax, valium, etc..) as they have addicting qualities. Also, consider a Med-Alert bracelet if attacks are recurrent and emergency help has ever been required. LMK if you require additional info. Good luck and also, might want to decrease caffeine intake if more than 1 or 2 cups a day.

Hello
I want to say:
1-during 25 years ago, I did more than 20 ECG.
2-I did holter for more than 14 hours>
3-I did EKO test.
4- I did catherrization at 1980 at sofia city in bulgaria.
5-I did ECG under stress.
6-I did sonar for my heart.
all this test say that my heart are very clean and very good, also my father and mother and all my brothers has no heart disease.
doctors say that my charactor and my nature are sensitive and cause of that, I have little Anxiety and little stress and this cause palpitation and pvcs.
I not drink tea or cofee or wine.
also I not smoke.
I not feel dizness or Chest pain.
I just feel my heart beats and this make me not calm and not relax.
I am active engineer and I work hard with out problem but with out rest also.
pvcs when it happened, it annoy me(bother me),I want to do very good work and this need calm state.
I use 10 mg inderal and 2 mg diazipam one tablet daily ,but still not calm cause of palpitation and pvcs.
how can I forget my heart beats.

Hello,

I don’t want to downplay the pain you are having with your palpitations and the Anxiety it’s causing not to have it diagnosed. I would like to try to look at other possibilities while you wait for cardiac tests and give you other avenues to search down. I have given the below answer under your other post as well.

I hope you have found some relief since your posting and I hope all is going well for you.

If your cardiac tests came out well but you are still feeling the palpitations you may be possibly experiencing discomfort from a hiatal hernia or some other type of GASTRIC problem. As I was reading your post I see under #25 you state you have worse palpitations after large meals, you may be onto something there.

ATIVAN is in a class of drugs called BENZODIAZEPINES, and so is VALIUM. Benzodiazepines affect the chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced causing Anxiety, nervousness and tension disorders.

Hello friend
about a hiatal herinia, I want to say I have good phesical heart and I did tv test to my heart at sofia at bulgaria and this test contain entering a certain wire through my leg to inside my heart and the result are very good.
my astomash are also very good.
all this probles of palpitation start when I wear eye glasses at a college and allergy of eyes, this cause me uncomfort and from this point my problems start.
before that ,I am very nice and not know palpitation or pvcs.
doctors say that my charactor are hypersensitive and cause of that, I suffer from many things which is simple for others but for me I see it problem.
thank you for your reply and I hope you remain with me

Hello,

Here are another couple of thoughts – first, can you wear contact lenses to relieve your face of glasses touching it? Secondly, has an aortic aneurysm been ruled out?

Have they checked you for an AORTIC ANEURYSM? This is caused from a weakness in the wall of the aorta where it comes off the heart, it can be from birth or caused from an injury.

Often the ECG results will read normal in an uncomplicated aortic aneurysm. The best tests to begin with for diagnosing would be a Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or a computed tomography (CT) scan of the chest.

The symptoms are light-headedness, weakness, Shortness of breath, Rapid heart beat, sweating, numbness or tingling in the arm, Chest pain or pressure and loss of consciousness (fainting).

Hello friend
about contact lenses I cant cause I have little allergy at my eyes and I try contact lenses and it is not suitable and my eyes has no comfort with it. I use eye glases now and it is acceptable for me now.
about my artery, it is very good and I am very active civil engineer and I build many projects, no head ache and no short breath or any other symptoms. but I see my self when I am standing and waiting, I not have comfort, it is better to me to walk rather than to stand, specially after eating ,but if my stomach are empty, I stand with comfort.
