Mechanism of action of Restall

Competitively blocks the effects of histamine at peripheral H1 receptor sites; has skeletal muscle relaxing, bronchodilator, antiemetic and analgesic properties.

Indications of Restall

1. Treatment of anxiety, preoperative sedative, antipruritic

Contraindications of Restall

1. Allergy to any antihistamines

Adverse effects of Restall

• CNS: Headache, nervousness, dizziness, tremor, seizure
• GI: Xerostomia
• Respiratory: Thickening of bronchial secretions
• General: Weight gain
• Other: blurred vision
