Choked rather badly while drinking a glass of water, far worse than I ever have before. Spent quite a while coughing. Is this something to see a doctor about, or will it resolve itself?

 Most likely this will resolve on its own. In some cases it can cause pneumonia. So, if you have breathing difficulties that persist, you should see your doctor.
