this is a very senstive thing for me, i've had a "cindy crawford type" mole my whole life...right above my upper lip. I am very unhappy with it and always have been, i don't think it's malignent or anything, but i'm just tired of being self consciece about it and want to get it removed... I'm scared about it growing back bigger, or scarring bad though..what are the chances of that...and how would a doctor remove it to avoid it doin that. also how long would the recovery time last...i really wanna get this done before school starts at the end of the month. thanks for any info you can provide.

Hi!
Doctors remove moles by means of surgery, cryotherapy, or laser therapy. Whether or not scars become depends on the individual body type. Complete healing usually takes place in 3-4 weeks, though that should not bother with your day-to-day life unless you don't want to be seen around with the healing spot on your face.
Hope this helps.
