Question: Red spots after sex with wife

kyguy69 - Fri Dec 22, 2006 7:13 pm

Recently my wife had a yeast infection. She took an over the counter pill that cures it in one pill. About a week later we had sex and now all the sudden I have 5 to 7 tiny red spots with dark red center spots on the right side of the shaft of my penis. They do Itch and cause me to want to scratch. They are not on my head or scrotum either. Any ideas? And no I don't sleep outside of my marriage.

Hello,

Direct clinical examination is essential for the diagnosis in cases like yours.

How your wife was diagnosed with Candida, did she consult her Doctor?

These lesions could be due to:

-Genital Candidiasis, a type of fugal infection that causes Itchy rash on the penis. They are normal pathogens in our bodies and are activated when the immune system is lowered e. g. during stress, when on Antibiotics, DM etc.
and rarely through sexual intercourse.

Microscopic examination of tissue scrap from lesions help in the diagnosis for these types of fungal infections.

- Friction and another type of fungus occur in an area where skin rubbing against skin is highly frequent.
Skin rubbing against skin generates heat and sweat, they in turn lead to , redness and , painful Itchy patches.
Obese and active people are more susceptible.
The Itch may progress into inflammation and becomes more complicated with Itch and redness .
In such cases, the patches of scaly skin will have defined, ring-like borders—hence the medical name Tinea cruris, or ringworm of the groin. Fungus-caused jock Itch predominates in the summer.

- Herpes simplex, (less likely) which is one of the sexually transmitted disease. Genital herpes is a very common disease caused by Herpes virus type2.
It spread by direct contact.
It results in small, very painful blisters (fluid is inside the lesion)on the penis
and anus in men, and cause genital irritation, Itching, and discharge, swelling, reddening, or a feeling of pressure in the groin.

The sores turns into crust, that scab
and heal in about 3 weeks.

Other causes of Dermatitis should be excluded.

Direct clinical examination is essential.
Best regards.

I wanted to include things that I didn't.

I'm 26 years old. I have had no past surgeries and I'm not on any medicine. I recently landed a new job in accounting so now I'm not out in the cold any longer. My first couple of days at work I wore pants that was a bit to small hurting my stomach.

I haven't done anything outside my relationship with my wife, except masterbation with no lubricants. And I've done this for years even though I need to stop because I know I'm commiting mental adultry. Its just that the temptation is to strong not to but im fighting.

I wanted to get more detailed. There is around 5 total spots on the right side of my shaft only. There is not only reddish skin but dark red skin circles inside no bigger then 1/6 a fingernail. They are not above the skin but level with it and are harder then the rest of me. As in solid spots. Nothing is on the head and it doesnt hurt when I use the bathroom. Basicly the spots look like puncture wounds that have healed. With a reddish tent around them.

Besides not knowing what it is, for ideas u guys have what could I research and medicines that I might be able to try?

I figure I'm being punished because I've been praying that I would stop this and I keep doing it. Funny because one night I told my self I'd stop and then on a radio station it talked about in the bible were if something causes u to sin then to cut it off so that you might enter into Heaven. This was 4 weeks ago. and After finding this 2 days ago I hear the message again from someone else, weird.

Today during Christmas my side would hurt if I applied pressure to it. Between my hip and private on the front side of me, same side as spots on my shaft. Could I have recieved the yeast infection?

Hello,

This is more likely to be due to fugal infection.

As I mentioned before, Friction and (fungus caused jock Itch) occur in an area where skin rubbing against skin is highly frequent.

They present with red and , painful Itchy patches of scaly skin will have defined, ring-like borders—hence the medical name Tinea cruris, or ringworm of the groin.

Topical antifungal creams are used for treatment.
However, there is no replacement for direct medical consultation.

I advise you to consult a dermatologist for proper management.
Best regards.
