Question: Pimple like sores

Im a 24/m who has been with my girlfriend for about 1 1/2 years. About a week ago we had unprotected sex, which isn't unusual for us. Right afterward I noticed a little irritation on the top of my penis under the head. The next morning it had scabbed over and I noticed 3 small red pimple looking dots on the shaft. I didn't think anything of it, except that it could have been irritated. I let it go, and now a week later the red pimple looking dots are still there. They don't hurt unless irritated or squeezed. I thought maybe they could be popped, but just blood comes out, and sometmes a clear liquid, like that of a pimple. But the small white dot on top still stays there. I've tried peroxide, and alcohol, but neither have worked, just maybe them a little bigger for a couple seconds. I haven't been with anybody other than my girlfriend since we've been together, and I am her first. Granted, I can only speak for myself, but she's not the kind of girl to cheat. Should I be worried about this? Or will they go away on their own? I scab thing I have had happen before, and that just goes away. Never seen the bumps before though. At the time I was taking Amoxicillan and sudafed pe for a cold. Now I am on Augmentin for the remainder of the cold. Can someone help me out?

Hello,
Dermatitis is referred to different types of skin rashes that are caused by infections, allergies, and irritants.
These lesions could be due to many causes including:
- Contact Dermatitis occurs due to skin contact with a substance that causes an allergic reaction (allergic contact Dermatitis)
or with an irritant substances (irritant contact Dermatitis).
There are many causes for contact Dermatitis some involve irritants such as soaps, certain creams and some may be due to allergy. Avoiding the causing substance is the mainstay of prevention in addition to medications prescribed by your doctor.
-Genital Candidiasis, a type of fugal infection that causes Itchy rash on the penis. They are normal pathogens in our bodies and are activated when the immune system is lowered e.
g. during stress, when on Antibiotics (more likely in your case), DM etc.
and rarely through sexual intercourse.
Microscopic examination of tissue scrap from lesions help in the diagnosis for these types of fungal infections.
- Inflammation of the Hair follicles and sebaceous (sweat) glands.
Hair follicles and sebaceous (sweat) glands are normally found on the penile shaft, particularly on the ventral surface (underside). They may be infected forming, trichomycosis in the case of sweat glands and folliculitis in the case of hair follicles Forming small, white-headed Bumps in hair follicles (roots).
Lesions may be Itching. Superficial folliculitis resolves spontaneously in a few days, while deep or recurring folliculitis should be medically treated.
- Herpes simplex, (less likely) which is one of the sexually transmitted disease. Genital herpes is a very common disease caused by Herpes virus type2.
It spread by direct contact.
It results in small, very painful blisters (fluid is inside the lesion)on the penis
and anus in men, and cause genital irritation, Itching, and discharge, swelling, reddening, or a feeling of pressure in the groin.
The sores turns into crust, that scab
and heal in about 3 weeks.
- Friction and another type of fungus are also very likely to be the causes of these symptoms.
Skin rubbing against skin generates heat and sweat, they in turn lead to , redness and , painful Itchy patches.
Obese and active people are more susceptible.
The Itch may progress into inflammation and becomes more complicated.
-
Direct clinical examination is essential.
I advise you to follow up with your doctor for proper management.
Best regards.
