Question: White Dots on Thight and Pimplish Things...

gamecollector - Tue Jan 02, 2007 3:35 pm

I am a 20 year old male and I have small white dots on my inner right thigh and nowhere else. They sort of look like salt and are really Itchy at times. Back in August, a rash formed directly above my knee on my inner thigh and red spots and hot to the touch. It went away after a few weeks, but returned about 6 weeks ago and was much worse. That rash went away about 2 weeks ago and left the skin scaly and greyish, and yesterday I noticed these white dots. They are spread out in little cluster around my leg. I have no clue what they could be. I haven't had sexual contact since September of '05 and I didn't have any kinda rash until the one back in August. I have nothing in my genital area either and never have? Any ideas? I also get large painful pimple-like blisters on my shoulders and back. I am pretty hairy, and don't know if those are ingrown hairs or whatever. I can send pics of the white dots to give a better idea. I do not have insurance so I cannot go to the doctor to get checked out.

Thanks, Just let know what you think!

There are several possibilities. It may be Eczema, a contact Dermatitis, a folliculitis (inflammation of the hair shafts), or possibly a post viral/bacterial infection effect. The localized area makes me wonder about a contact Dermatitis or a folliculitis.

I cannot recommend a treatment without a definite diagnosis as some of these need treatments that may make the other things worse. I would suggest having it evaluated. There are often free public health clinics, or clinics that offer a reduced fee based on income that can see those without insurance.

Hope this helps.
