Question: Lump!!!!

acm419 - Thu Jan 04, 2007 2:26 am

Hi, I'm 19 and Female. I have these little round lumps underneath my skin on my body. They are about the size of this O, maybe a little bigger, but not pea-sized. They are hard, but I can kind of move them around a little bit. I have one underneath my collar bone, two in the dimple on my lower back and one on my stomach. They seem to be close to the surface but maybe in the fleshy area. I'm concerned about what they might be.

Hello,

It would have been more helpful if you give more details about the character of this swelling as its course is it increasing in size, etc.
Did they appear recently, do they increase in number recently, did you lose weight recently, do you have any history of other medical problems or family history of certain diseases ?.

It could be subcutaneous fat that is normally present in all of us, or small lipomas that tends to occur in some people in certain body areas.

A swelling can be easier diagnosed if any associated symptoms exist.

In any case clinical examination is very essential for differential diagnosis.

I advise you to seek direct medical consultation.
Keep us updated.
Best regards.

I've had these for about a year, except for the one on my stomach which I only recently discovered. However, that might've been there longer and I just never found it.

They've been the same size, no increase I can tell.
I can pinch the area around them and feel like a hard little round lump. Again they're smaller than a pea, but are slightly bigger than this O.

Hello,

The description you gave is reassuring and probably they are small subcutaneous fat nodules that present in all of us.

However, direct clinical examination is essential.

Keep us updated.
Best regards.
