Hi,
I am a 55 year old woman, and I have been getting bruises practically everywhere from the waist up. A few months ago, the bruises were all over my legs, but has moved up to my arms. I have had one heart surgery which put a spring in my arteries to hold it up.
But this occured even before that. i am the only one in my family that has been bruising this much. and i am not on any medications. Please let me know whats going on.thanks

Bruising can be a symptom of underlying disorders so it's always wise to get it checked out. I would schedule an appointment with your doctor. Some people do have this problem without anything serious but it's best to rule out problems before assuming this is the case.
Good luck.
