Dear Doctor,
About a week ago I developed a large, red, pimple-like bump on my buttocks. It is very pressure sensitive but does not seem to be a pimple. Though anything is possible, it is highly unlikely that it is std related as I am not very active and don't have multiple partners. I'm growing more concerned because it seems to be getting more and more sensitive. I don't know what could have caused it, I can't associate it with any particular change (no change in diet or activities, not from shaving, no change in soaps or detergents or anything). Any ideas what this could be?

Hello Inkuzzi,
I would recommend you have your doctor evaluate this. It sounds like you may have an infection of the skin. These types of infections often need antibiotics and possibly drainage to resolve. They can develop spontaneously.
Best wishes.
