Question: Red Bumps on Legs

 missy23 - Fri May 06, 2005 5:51 pm Bookmark and Share

hiii im 15 and i have numerous red bumps all over my legs and it seems like the hair grows out of them. It doesn't itch at all, but its just not very.. flattering. Using moisturizer seems to make it a bit better but they aren't going away. I also have them on the back of my arms.

Is there anything I can do to make them go away and what is it?

User avatar Hi missy23,
Using a double or triple blade razor makes the condition worse. Use a single blade razor, with a moisturing shaving gel, shave every other day, until the irritation subsides and don't shave against the grain (as in shaving upward, try shaving in a downward motion) This may be somewhat difficult but when irritation developes and you shave against the hair grain it worsens the problem. Also a body sponge may also keep hair from growing back inward which is essentially one of the things that create the bumps.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Rntdj
