Question: Is this a thyroid prob?

 nomiepie - Thu Jul 29, 2004 1:11 am

Over the last 2 yrs I lost about 100 pounds and now weigh 155.
I jog 4 to 6 miles every other day and try to keep my weight stablized.
Since I lost weight I am so cold and freezing. Is that normal?
If its under 75 degrees I wear a coat, my husband thinks I am
nuts for doing this.

User avatar Hello,
Weight loss is usually associated with increased thyroxin production. Intolerence to cold is a sign of decreased thyroxin production. However, your intolerence to cold warrants the exclusion of hypothyroidism. That can easily be done with a few blood tests.
