i am a 21 year old female and am suffering from severe hair loss, acne, abdominal distention, heavy menstrual periods, and irregular menstrual periods (last period started 10 days after the one before it ended), I have been treated in the past for hyperthyroidism in the past but when my levels were checked about a year and a half ago they were normal. do you think these symptoms could be related to a hormone imbalance. most doctors tell me its not worth testing my hormone levels because im too young and they probably wont find any problems, but i want a second opinion!

I would encourage a second opinion. I wonder if you might have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). Good luck.
