Question: Low estrogen, FSH<1, and LH <1

 Krissy27 - Tue Apr 28, 2009 10:00 pm Bookmark and Share

I am a 27 year old female. I went to see my doctor 2.5 months ago with symptoms of hypothyroidism; Fatigue, sensitivity to cold, Constipation, large amount of unexplained weight gain, puffy face, muscle aches, memory and concentration loss, stiffness in joints, insomnia, never feel rested after sleeping, depression

I also had two additional symptoms that my doctor said was abnormal for hypothyroidism: feeling my throat was full moments after having any food, have not had my menstrual period in 3+ months (never missed a period since age 13).

The doctor sent me for blood tests and the thyroid tests came back in the normal range, however my FSH and LH were below 1 and my estrogen was "shockingly low". My doctor has now ordered a MRI and Ovarian Ultrasound. He has only told me that my medical tests point to very high chance of infertility and possibility of pituitary tumor. I tried to get more information, but he would not provide anything.

Can you please help me understand why these 3 levels would be so low and what this could possibly mean. Additionally, why would I be gaining so much weight, suffering insomnia, always so tired etc.

Thank-you!

User avatar Hello --

It appears you've posted the same question here twice, and it's already been answered (as best it could be) already in the prior post. Please refer back to that one for the reply. Thank you!
