Question: Hyponaturemia

 Kingxray - Fri Jul 15, 2005 12:43 pm

Hi,
I am new to this forum and hope I am posting at the correct place.

For the past two years I have had low sodium (129) with an occasionally mildly low BUN (4) and chloride (96). Urinaylsis is fine except for many epitheal cells and few bacteria.

My doctor is now sending me to an endocronologist and nephrologist. I have been in the medical field for many years and have yet to run accross this. Anyone have any idea what this is?

BTW: I am 42 and have a past medical history of COPD, hypertension, gastritis, and esphagitis. My father also has low sodium but I am unsure of his history or workup on this. Thanks for your help.

I am having a lot of trouble finding information regarding this topic and could use a little guidance. Thanks.
