Question: Smoking while pregnant

My wife is pregnant but wants to smoke one a week is this ok as i know smoking is harmfull please help

No amount of smoking in a pregnant woman is OK. It does constrict the blood vessels and this includes the cord vessels that nourish the baby and supply oxygen. That said, if smoking does continue, the less the better.

Please encourage her to participate in a community smoking cessation program. Call your local health department to see what may be available to help her. There are programs out there.
