I bleed during sexual intercourse is it cancer?

Postby gurlnGa » Fri Nov 14, 2008 7:48 am

I have excruciating lower back pain and an irregular menstral cycle. Im 21 and i have one chil who is 15 months old. I 6/get headaches and sharp stabbing chest and lower abdominal pain also. I recently started bleeding during sexual intercourse. I have only one partner because I am married. We don't have sex alot only a few time a month like 3-6. I have alot of people in my family who has had different forms of cancer. My question is could i have signs of ovarian or cervical cancer? And if its cervical cancer is it true that you get cervical cancer by std's because i don't think i ever had any. PLease help.

Hello,
Bleeding is rarely a sign of cancer and cervical pap smears are the best way to monitor changes that sometimes lead to cancer. Bleeding can be associated with dry vaginal tissue (need more lubrication), rough sex, endometriosis and other conditions. You should discuss it with your doctor who can examine for any abnormality. It is not likely serious.

Best wishes.
