Dear rickmj
there is an equation used to estimated patient's GFR based on their weight, serum
creatinine, and gender as well.
your serum
creatinine still falls within the normal limit, but usually GFR of 60 ml/min or greater is expected in patients with no medical problems.
the normal serum
creatinine could range any where between 0.5-1.5 mg/dl. sometimes dehydration can cause serum
creatinine to be in the higher range in healthy patients.
one reading does not necessarily dictate the presence of a problem, but it would not hurt to have it checked again.
thanks and remain blessed
