Yes, you absolutely could have brucellosis, given the chronic symptoms you describe, as the disease sometimes presents this way instead of acutely. Given your background and exposure to animals, this may well explain your recurrent symptoms. It would certainly be worth testing for it. It can be found in blood cultures or via antibodies in the blood, or sometimes by bone-marrow biopsy if bloodwork is inconclusive. If positive for it, brucellosis can be treated, usually by long-term combination
antibiotic therapy.
