Hepatitus b core antibody

Postby sara27020 » Wed Jun 23, 2010 3:06 pm

I am going to be a surrogate, but just found out that the intended parent has hap b core antibody. Since he fetilized the egg before it is transfered to me, will it put me at risk of catching it?

Hello,
I have never heard of a person being at risk through this. Babies born of hepatitis positive fathers are not at risk for having it unless they get it from the mother who is infected at birth so I do not see how it could put you at risk for the disease.

Good luck with your venture.
