Just got my 4th sore throat in the past 2 months and I really am confused. These sore throats don't feel like any I've had before and keep coming back. The irritation is high up in the back of my throat and is usually on one side or the other (this time it happens to be both sides however). Swallowing is difficult and I've had no
fever or cold symptoms. The first time I also was
vomiting on and off for a couple hours, which never happens to me. I was put on a "Z pack" of
antibiotics and it went away after about 3 days. The second time I was put on Amoxicillan for 10 days. The third time (less than a week later) I went to the doctor, he drew some blood for tests and put me on Omnicef. Five days later he called and told me to stop taking the Omnicef and pick up a "PrevPac" for h-pylori (I've never had acid reflux though). Two days before my PrevPac was done I got a sore throat again. Now it's day three of this sore throat and it's getting a little worse each day. I also have had other symptoms in the past couple months which I can't find a reason for. My right shoulder and jaw started bothering before the sore throats started. The jaw
pain went away after a couple weeks but the shoulder
pain spread to the left shoulder and occasionally is in the elbow joints and arm muscles. I say occasionally because it's different almost every day. The doctor did a lymes and a mono test and said it was negative. My 5 yr od son had strep about a month ago so I was tested when I had the 3rd sore throat and it was negative. The past few days my lower back has been bothering me also. I don't know whats happening because all my life I've been in great shape and rarely get sick. I've never been overweight and eat extremely healthy foods. Any suggestions? I still have about 4 days of the Omnicef left - should I take it?
