Hello,
This is considered an ACL injury with avulsion fracture.
Generally, six-eight weeks for the bone to heal and then rehab for the knee.
Was the ACL damaged beyond the avulsion fracture?
Any damage to the ACL itself?
Knee flexion and extension will improve with time and effort once the surgeon approves of ROM exercise. Control of edema is important.
As you regain motion (which should return to normal), strengthening exercise will commence.
Your physical therapist will guide you through the rehab.
Take care and let us know how your recovery goes.
