When should a hairline fracture be broken in order to set?

I just need some medical opinions. Is is common or necessary to brake a hairline fracture all the way through to make it easier to set the bone correctly?

It is usually not necessary to create a more severe fracture to treat a hairline fracture.
With a hairline fracture, there is usually no displacement or angulation of the bone The bone stays straight (no reduction needed) and heals with time and avoidance of trauma.
