WHY DO I TAKE A LOW DOSAGE ASPIRIN WITH ATENOLOL 50 MG.

Hello Katrina,
The atenolol treats the hypertension and is also used to treat various heart conditions. The low dose aspirin is generally used to gaurd against the development of thrombosis (blood clotting) in patients at high risk of stroke, myocardial infarction or indeed any other thrombotic condition. Aspirin prevents platelet aggregation and hence prevents thrombus formation.
