2 mos no period spotting after masturbation

Postby Dmuslima » Wed Nov 12, 2008 10:36 am

i had a dermoid cyst and my left ovary removed 2/24/04. the other ovary had a tubal ligation same time (titanium band).my last period was 9/5/08, spotted on 10/5/08. spotted yesterday after clitoral masturbation. both times spotting was very light pink and lasted for a hour if that. No spotting after intercourse. Have been light headed and nauseous especially if i haven't eaten in an hour or 2.I am hungry all the time. I went to the doctor she said it was my allergies it is NOT my allergies. I have long cycles but i do not miss periods. What is wrong? Pregnancy test was negative as of 11/5/08. I am not unusually stressed actually probably less stressed. I exercise 2x a week. I am healthy for the most part. 2 healthy pregnancies. My doctor blew me off. Please give me some direction.

Hello,
No woman has ever been guaranteed regular periods. Even if they are regular at one time, hormones change and irregularity at times is very normal for most women. If your doctor says you are healthy otherwise, I would not worry about the periods. If you are questioning pregnancy, you can take a home pregnancy test pretty easily to ease your mind. It seems highly unlikely given your medical history. You could have some blood sugar variations and maintaining a diet rich in protein with small frequent meals might help. Some people find they respond to chromium (a supplement that helps stabilize blood sugar).

At any rate, missing periods is rarely a cause for alarm. If your doctor "blew you off" I'm quite certain it was because it is nothing serious. She probably didn't intend for you to feel this way about her response. It may be her way of being reassuring.

Best wishes.
