Hello,
Fibroadenomas are benign tumors that are solid and round. These painless lesions feel rubbery and can be moved around easily by the patient. Fibroadenomas are often found during routine self breast examination. Fibroadenomas are most common in young women in their late teens and occur more often in African American women. They are known to recurr frequently. The reason you undergo ultrasonography is to insure that you do not have a cancer. If any suspicion arises or the adenomas become disfiguring your doctor will resort to removing them.
