1 year old with fever

My daughter has ran a fever for several days now. Today is the 4th day. I took her to the doctor on Friday and he put her on antibiotics. Her fever is spiking up to 105 at times.
I give her ibuprofen along with her antibiotics and decongestants that the doctor gave but her fever remains. I am not sure what to do.
The doctor said she has an upper respiratory infection and ear infection. I would have expected that the antibiotics would have helped to get rid of the fever by now.
Please help.

Hello,
If the antibiotics are effective against the offending organism, typically fever will subside within a few days. Ongoing fever that spikes could indicate another infection that perhaps is not responsive to the antibiotic. You should follow up with the doctor so they know what is happening.
