9 year old starting period

My friend has a 9 year old daughter who just started her period. I did some research and have found other cases where very young girls have started as well so that is not so much the issue. The reason why they are so worried about her is because 1 year ago she was in an accident in which she fell and bruised her private areas very badly. She has told her parents that it burns sometimes when she pees but the doctors cannot find any signs of infection. The doctor did say that she is still bruised from the accident. They are worried that something more serious might be wrong with her since she is still bruised, it burns when she pees and she has started her period at a very young age.
Is this something to be worried about and should they take her to a different doctor?

More and more younger girls are starting their periods earlier these days. It is thought that there are environmental factors where estrogen is affected. We do know there are contaminants in the environment that can have this affect so it is logical this could be at least part of the cause. This is not something to worry about but the pain on urination should be checked thoroughly for infection or anatomic defect. It might warrant a visit with a urologist if the regular doctor can't determine a cause. It seems unlikely she would still have bruising pain after a year.
