My son has had over 12 episodes of high
fever WITH NO OTHER SYMPTOMS since June. He has been taken by ambulance with a
fever of 106.6 during one episode, and hospitialized for 5 days during an other episode with a
fever of 105.8. When he has these episodes the
fever will last for 3 to 8 days. It never completly breaks, it will go down at times, but never breaks till the episode is over. We use
tylenol, ibuprofin, luke warm baths, and loose clothing to try to keep it under control. He has had several blood test done. All showing a high wbc, over 29,000 at one point. He has had 3 positive crp test. He has had chest x-rays, urine and stool test, throat cultures, all have been negative. He's had no ear infections,
vomitting, diareha,
cough, or even a runny nose. He has been passed from one specialist to an other. We have been through genetics, hormones, kidneys, allergy and immune, and are going to the neuroligist this Wednesday. He is over weight, sweats terribly, has
asthma, and gets unexplained rashes. I belive that he should have a MRI done at this point. I am scared to be the one to request it though, because of him having to be put under. Is there anything that might have been over looked? Any specific test that I should be requesting? Anyone who has experienced anything similar? Please help. I am scared to death and desperate at this point.
