Hello -
This is difficult to asses, because there is always the possibility of an unfortunate coincidence where some disease process happens to present itself just after some physical trauma or other illness. However, it does seem all this follows your neck and back injuries, and it is very reasonable to guess most if not all the symptoms are due to this. They do not sound like thyroid-related symptoms, but that could well have been going on already without any symptoms and may have been diagnosed more or less by accident. The injuries to your neck and back definitely could account for the symptoms, and among other neurological tests that need to be done to determine where the problem lies would be a nerve conduction test and electromyelogram (EMG). Cervical injuries certainly can often cause severe
headaches as well as neurological symptoms below the level of the injury. You may well have more than one spinal injury from the sound of things. You may need to go for a second opinion or have a consult with a neurosurgeon in order to get a better diagnosis than you've gotten so far (which has not been very well considered, it seems).
I hope this is helpful to you. Please follow up with us as needed.
