herpes on clothes

a person hugged me who had a visible cold sore on there lip the cold sore rubbed against my shirt i did not touch the spot the cold sore touched until i got a paper towel and put soap on the paper towel and rubbed the spot the cold sore touched on my shirt then i washed my hands
am i at risk for getting herpes?

Hello,
No, this would not be a mode of transmission for herpes. If you kissed that person on the lips, especially if you had any lesion on your mouth, that would be another story. Don't stress about this.
