Sorry for the delay. A thrombosed
hemorrhoid can take any length of time to recover completely depending on several factors (whether this is a recurrent attack or a new presentation, whether there are risk factors that caused the
hemorrhoid, continued trauma).
Usually if you stick to conservative therapy and this is a new attack, the condition can be resolved within a week. Trauma such as anal sex will prevent complete healing from taking place and can predispose you to recurrent attacks.
I think you should avoid trauma to this area until you are sure that your symptoms and your condition has completely resolved.
