I am a 34 y.o. mother of a 21 month old. I have been married for almost 2 years and have no sex drive at all. I visited a counseling center regarding an advertised trial study for woman with the same problems. The trial study was for viagra use in the female population. At that time, I had some preliminary lab work drawn and my estradiol level came back at <19. I was excluded from the study based on this low estradiol level. My lack of sex drive is becoming a issue in my marriage. I have total apathy for sexual involment of any kind and at times sex even repulses me. I never used to be this way and I don't quite understand it.
I have spoken with my OB/GYN-NP regarding the trial study and she seemed supportive but offered no other suggestions r/t treatment. What meds, if any will help women in my situation? I have done a little research into yohimbine, but there really isn't much info on sexual dysfuntion in women. How much correlation is there between sex drive and estradiol levels? Since my level is so low, is there a replacement? Is there any hope for me ever getting my passion back?
