I'd say you should be thrilled, yes. While pituitary tumors are almost never malignant they can cause all kinds of crazy symptoms and often require treatment. There are some newer drugs that can reduce the size of the tumor, but of course there are side-effects, costs, aggravation, etc. That your tumor shrank on its own is pretty remarkable. I've never heard of this happening, but then I'm not all that knowlegeable about the statistics on this.
At any rate, great news! You'll undoubtedly want to be followed for a while, even if no further symptoms develop, but meanwhile just enjoy the remarkable turn of events.
