Diseases with low D25, high D'1'25 & decreasing PTH

Postby wolfhound » Wed Nov 05, 2008 4:49 am

I was originally sent to an immunologist to assess the cause of arthritis and have been producing negative blood tests for all auto-immune conditions for 4 years. I do, however, have low D25, elevated D'1'25 and parathyroid hormone is going downwards. Is that pattern only typical of granulomatous diseases such as sarcoidosis or can it be also typical of auto-immune conditions such as lupus and reactive arthritis?
I also had slightly elevated ACE and just over the upper parameter for calcium in urine but these 2 things normalised after Prednisone. D'1'25 also decreased a lot after Prednisone but went from very elevated to more moderately elevated. I also appear to have a slight protein in urine leak and a high urine protein/creatine ratio.
I would be grateful for any insight you might be able to provide in clearing up whether this sounds more like a granulomatous condition or an auto-immune one.
