this case is about a poor family i know in egypt. mother is 21 years old. baby was born normally on october 2006. he is a boy. he suffers from gigantic swelling of the left hand that was similar to
the size of the head at birth. The swelling has
increased in size reaching the present size
The father gave history of repeated attacks of
fever
and unusual tenderness of the hand followed by an
increase in the size and the appearance of several
discharging bullae in the distal forearm and the hand
possibly suggesting attacks of lymphangitis
When the baby was 3 months old the father discovered
another swelling in the left scapular region that was
partially compressible and non tender and the increase
in size was concomitant with the increase in size of
the hand swelling. The mother gave no history of
fever during her
pregnancy but she stated that she took Augmentin 625
mg twice daily for a common cold infection.
She was complaining of a certain degree of hypotension
but not to the extent of fainting.
No other drugs and no exposure to radiation.
doctors in egypt said the only teatment is cutting off the hand. i have all the c-scan images of his hand and we need to know is there any other solutions for this case. thank u
