Question: no bowel movement for 5 days

im 39 and havent had a bowel movement for 5 days,
im not taking any medication, except I took 4 ex-lax and still no movement , im cramping very bad, but gas has passed through, but very little, what could be wrong, I never have done this before ?

Hello,
Causes of Constipation include:
- Inadequate fluid intake
- A low-fiber diet
- Inadequate physical activity
Management and prevention depends on the underlying cause, in general it is advisable to
- Do a stool analysis.
- plenty of fluid intake.
-Exercises regularly
Consult your doctor before taking any laxatives. He can recommend some stool softeners.
