Hi, first let me say thanks for the help. I am a 21 year old female that recently found out I had hyperthyroidism. I have been having trouble swallowing and stomache, back, and leg cramping. My doctor ordered a thyroid ultrasound along with a cat scan of my pelvic and abdominal area. I haven't recieved the results of my ultrasound yet but, the cat scan came back and my doctor says that I have some ovarian cysts and fluid around my colon. I have had ovarian cysts before but, never any fluid around my colon. What does this mean??
Thanks,
luvumason

Findings of fluid in the abdomen are often non-specific. If the fluid is only a small amount it is likely to not be very significant. Larger amounts of fluid may correlate with low blood protein or infection or other problems.
I would recommend that you discuss your CT with your doctor to find out what your finding may be related to.
Best wishes.
