Hello,
I have been suffering from really intense cramps in my calves for a few weeks now.
It only happens in the morning while i am sleeping i half notice that when i am turning around or about to stretch i suddenly wake up in pain because a cramp appears in one of my calves.
Can anyone tell me why I am getting these? Ive had them before in the past... but this happens every other year or so, and stays for a few months...
Thank you!

Hi camara,
The cause for night time leg cramps in the calves can not always be identified. However, some conditions that may cause this are injury, endocrine abnormalities, abnormal levels of potassium, calcium, magnesium, etc. When no obvious cause or trigger can be identified, leg stretching exercises provide subsidence as well as certain medications. I would suggest an evaluation by your physician to identify if an underlying disorder is present.
Sincerely,
Rntdj
