Hello MY NAME IS KRISTY I AM 21 YEARS OLD ... I USUALLY MONITOR MY PERIOD AND IT USED TO BE VERY REGULAR SAME DAY EVERY MONTH AND LAST FOR 4 DAYS .. THE SAME EVERYTIME.
I NOTICED IN ABOUT AUGUST OF THIS YEAR THAT I GOT MY PERIOD 2 TIMES IN A MONTH. WASNT TO WORRIED ABOUT IT BUT THEN A WEEK AND A HALF LATER GOT PERIOD AGAIN(LIKE A REGULAR FLOW). SO SINCE THEN I WOULD GET MY PERIOD 2 AND EVEN 3 TIMES A MONTH(WITH LIGHT SPOTTING IN BETWEEN) I WOULD END MY PERIOD COMPLETLY AND 6 DAYS IT WOULD BE BACK IN FULL .(SO BASICALLY ALWAYS ON PERIOD).. SO NOW DECEMBER HAVENT HAD PERIOD IN 14DAYS .. BUT I HAVE A VERY DARK BROWN DISCHARGE IM NOT TO SURE WHATIT IS ... OLD BLOOD? INFECTION? PERGNANT? I HAVE NO CLUE
IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME BEFORE I GO TO THE DOCTORS AFTER NEWYEARS (HES ON HOLIDAYS) THAT WOULD BE SO GREAT

Hello,
Causes of abnormal uterine bleeding include:
Uterine fibroids
Vaginal injury e.g infections
Changes in hormone levels
Irregular intake of birth control pills or other hormones
Low thyroid function
Drugs
Stress
If all causes are exclduded then , Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) is diagnosed.
DUB patients present with:
Vaginal bleeding in between periods
Abnormal menstrual duration
Variable menstrual cycles (usually shorter interval between menstrual periods)
Variable menstrual flow ranging from spotting to severe bleeding
Investigations include:
-lab tests:
CBC
Thyroid function tests
Hormone profile tests
Blood clotting profile
-Pelvic US
