Question: Possible ovarian cyst???

LETCH - Tue Jan 09, 2007 1:27 pm

I am a 38 year old, 2 children. Minimal past gyne issues until September when I had mid month severe blled lasting 2 days. MD said I had Little progesterone released causing my uterine lining to give upon ovulation. Was fine for a month. Now very painful periods, right sided pelvic/Abdominal pain ofter, during ovulation it is worse. I have developed right hip pain and now it is almost like sciatic pain down r leg, also in right thigh. Could these things be related?
Thanks for any info. Only med I am on is Propafenone for benign v-tach.

Thanks so much.

Hello,

Since you have expeienced vaginal bleeding recently, this makes a gynecological cause highly possible.

Causes may include :
Polycystic ovary syndrome -PCOS- is a condition in which females may have problems in
- their menstrual cycle,
-fertility,
-excess hormones including testosterone a male hormone,
-Insulin production,
-heart, blood vessels,
-and physical appearance (obesity).
- Acne, oily skin, or dandruff
-obesity and
-high blood pressure
-hair loss in specific parts due to high androgen level

Cause of PCOS are not known yet and diagnosis is confirmed by Abdominal US in addition to hormonal profile results.

- Endometriosis and adenomyosis give similar picture.
-PID pelvic inflammatory disease.

Other causes to be excluded include:
interstitial cystitis of bladder
degenerative bone and joint disease (lumbosacral).

I advise you to follow up with your doctor.
Keep us updated.
Best regards.
