I'm 17 years old and I've been on the birth control shot for a little over 5 months now. Over this period of time I've gained weight, but only in my stomach (to the point where I look 4 to 6 months pregnant I had ultra sounds done and they said nothing showed up) and I've have increasingly painful sharp sudden pains that last on average 5 to 6 minutes and happen throughout the day. My parents called my ob/gyn today and she took me off the shot and said nothing was wrong. She put in a perscription for the pill and I am to start it on Feb18.. I'm almost 100% POSITIVE her "nothing is wrong" statement isnt the truth. The pains are increasingly worse and even wake me up. My parents arent ANY support. They belive what the doctor says goes and everything else is in my head. I really need help! And this might not have anything to do but my stomach and breasts have become very Itchy and have a sort of bumpy rash TINY bumps..

Hello,
It will be more helpful if you can inform us why do you need contraceptive medications?
It is highly possible to be be the cause of these symptoms (at least until proved otherwise) . They are known to cause side effects, like breast tenderness, increased body weight and a possible allergic reaction, as in your case.
My concern is the cause of this severe Abdominal pain and whether it is related to contraceptive vascular complications and clotting (which may present with severe Abdominal pain). It is an alarming sign that should be investigated properly.
Coagulation profile and Abdominal CT or MRI may be needed for diagnosis.
I advise you to follow up with your Doctor and to discus with her this information.
Best regards.
