Hi, I'm 19 and I'm supposed to be starting my birth control on the Sunday after my period. However, my bleeding for the past two days has been a watery sort of pink. It's been been a lot of pink bleeding so I don't think it's really spotting and it's accompanied by dark red clots of blood.
I don't think I'm pregnant as I never had sex and my gynecologist said that a pregnancy test wasn't needed if I've never had sexual intercourse.
My question is, should I start my birth control since I'm technically bleeding or should I wait and see if it turns into a real bleed later this week and start it next Sunday? This bleeding started yesterday and I think that it would turn into a real bleed today so I didn't call my doctor.
So now I'm just wondering if I should take my birth control tomorrow as planned.
Thanks!

I would start the birth control as planned. I am sorry we did not answer sooner but if you did not start yesterday, you could still do so today.
