I have a friend who took pain pills while pregnant. She has stopped because she is afraid that the unborn child will be born addicted. She stopped 30 days before her due date. Is that enough time for it to be completely out of the baby's system?

Hello, Typically 30 days is considered a good period of time to be off narcotics prior to delivery. I am pretty confident this will be OK - assuming the baby doesn't come quite early. Some babies have signs of withdrawal but I would not expect that in this case.
Best wishes.
