I have had a scan at hospital which showed i had polycystic ovaries and a fibroid, I went to the doctor and was given a leaflet about it but I'm still pretty confused, Also last month I had a throbbing pain on my left side for the majority of the month which only went when i started my period, i then came off my period but came on again 2 weeks later, which is extremely unusual as I have always been regular even when i first started having periods, do i need to worry what would b causing this? thank you

Hello, This does not sound like anything to worry about. Almost every woman at times has irregular periods, missed periods, breakthrough bleeding and other uncharacteristic symptoms. The cycle is not static and predictable, though there are patterns. When you say, "always" or "never" it usually really means "not yet" or "not before now".
In PCOS, irregular periods constitute a common symptom so it is no surprise you are seeing this.
Best wishes.
