Question: Can post-menopausal Ovarian Cyst cause intestinal problems?

Abdominal/Pelvic CT scan performed to isolate source of chronic diarrhea, constant gas & constant urination (urine test found no infection.) 2 inch Ovarian Cyst & Liver Hemangioma found (the cyst has grown 1 inch since a scan perfomed last year.) I am two years post menopauseal and have recently begun to have hot flashes and night sweats again along with chronic low back/elbow/finger joint pain/chronic diarrhea/urinary incontinence. I am not on any HRT. Could any/all these symptoms be caused by the ovarian cyst. My OB has scheduled an Utrasound in two weeks. I am a 48 year old smoker with multiple autoimmune disorders. Hi Cindy,
You probably need to follow up with your GYN for a pelvic sonogram. Studies do show that in post menopausal women cysts are more common. Most cysts are for the most part painless ,but it is imperative to follow up with your GYN.
