I am 25 year old married woman with a 3 year old daughter (born by C-section). I ususally have regualr periods ( usually late by a maximum of 2-3 days). However, my last period was on 30th May 2009 and havent had any period ever since. Doen repeated pregnancy tests, but alla re negative. A doctor prescribed Medproxyprogesterone tablets ( twice ad ay for 5 days) with vitamins but no period even then. In these 2 months, i have gained a lot of weight as well. Please help.

Hello, First let me assure you that you don't need to have a period to be healthy. Sometimes you may miss a period or more because you are not ovulating for some reason. Sometimes it is due to stress or perhaps a hormonal problem such as PCOS or thyroid disorder. The weight gain is also often associated with hypothyroidism so a good overall exam would be indicated to address all of your concerns at once - absent periods and weight gain, along with any other complaints you may have.
Best wishes.
