Question: Anemic who has had period for 2 weeks

 xoxoheartsxoxo - Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:10 am

I am anemic and not on any vitamins but I have had my period for 2 weeks now. I usually have very irregular periods-skip a month sometimes, but they never last very long. It's unusual for me, and very uncomfortable! I'm just curious as to why. Plus my blood started brown and is now bright red for the first time this whole 2 weeks. I'm not sure what's wrong. Please help, thanks.

User avatar Hello,
Almost all women experience some "weird" periods at times. I would not be alarmed if it's a single event. If you find that every period over a few months is this way, you should see a doctor. It could be some hormonal adjustment that is needed and sometimes oral contraceptives or progesterone is used to help.

I would not worry but I know it's a real annoyance.

Best wishes.
