Question: Does lotion kill sperm?

 Ifeanyi - Sat Mar 06, 2010 10:44 am

I had sex four days after my period stopped.. we used lotion on his penis and when he came he came inside of me. Could the lotion affect the sperm or help not get me pregnant and is four days after my period a safe day for me.

User avatar Hello,
Lotion does not kill sperm and should not be used as a method of contraception. But, four days after the start of your period would be considered a "safe" day for most women. If it was four days after the end of your period, that would not be as safe. It is always risky to have unprotected sex because ovulation can vary considerably with women. I know of one at least who became pregnant on the last day of her period. It can happen though it is not typical. If you want to find out if you are pregnant, take a pregnancy test if your next period does not start on schedule.

Best wishes.
